Wireless Building with Series 14

Wireless Building of the Next Generation

With the Series 14 wireless DIN rail mounted devices, we are starting a new chapter in the central installation of wireless actuators.

  • A conventional single-family house with basement, ground floor and top floor allows many methods to install actuators of the DIN rail mounted device type.
  • The new Series 14 is so flexible, any electrician can keep to his usual, trusted installation method.
  • What is important is the arrangement of the antennas and/or repeaters. The most practical place to install the wireless antenna module FAM14 is at the centre of the building. The bidirectional Eltako RS485 Bus links the antenna module to all actuators. It makes no difference where the actuators are located, either all grouped together or distributed on several subdistributor panels. Example: MID three-phase electricity meter with Eltako RS485 Bus in the basement.
  • The bus and power supply connections for the actuators are simply cross-wired by means of jumpers. A customary screened 4-wire telephone line acts as a bus line to connect several distributors together.
  • Up to three additional antennas can be arranged in the building and connected to an RS485 sub-bus to ensure reception of sensor wireless telegrams everywhere. In addition – or alternatively – repeaters can be used which require no bus connection.
